Love NPD but wish you had a bit more variety with the types of products you work with?
This is a company that acts as an extension of its customers’ Development teams – and that customer base is really diverse. One day you might be working on a new flavour for a protein bar, the next day you might be getting the texture right for the launch of a new meat substitute. Sometimes, it’ll mean travelling across the UK to the customers’ sites; occasionally, the travel will be international too. Most of the time though, you’ll be based from the state of the art facility in Buckinghamshire, working as part of a small but growing team. Some of the customers that you’ll work with are HUGE names in the food industry, so you’ll be getting some awesome exposure and the chance to build a great reputation for yourself.
We’re looking for someone with a Food Science degree (or similar), who has got at least a few years NPD experience under their belt across a couple of different food areas. Big trends at the moment include sports and lifestyle nutrition, plant-based and savoury snacking, so experience of at least one of those areas would be preferable. If you’ve got any experience of working for an ingredients or flavours business, even better. You’ll be at ease in front of customers, being able to provide evidence of having built strong customer relationships. This can get pretty technical at times, so the more you can demonstrate success in overcoming NPD challenges related to flavour, texture and functionality, the better!
