Head of Social

£60,000 - £75,000
Manchester, England
Hybrid WorkingPension

So you’re a top notch Head of Social capable of making a brand’s social media channels the envy of the world (big ask, I know)?

This is an FMCG challenger brand known for being innovative, creative and unexpected, but they’ll admit their social content has, at times, got a bit predictable. That’s where you come in. You’re a challenger that’s not afraid to take a few risks, offering creative fearlessness and commercial strategy in equal measure. You’ve probably been frustrated by roles in more traditional businesses and are looking for somewhere you really make a difference.

The brand prides itself on its disruptive and viral approach to campaigns and is constantly looking for new ways to entertain its loyal customer base, whilst winning a plenty of new fans along the way!

As the Head of Social you’ll be leading a team that can create and implement creative, entertaining, attention grabbing and highly shareable content that will make the competition look boring in comparison.

It perhaps goes without saying that you will need a thorough understanding of the capabilities of social media, so you can elevate the day to day BAU content as well as amplifying the hype around the limited addition product drops. The ambition is to become the most exciting brand in the WORLD!

In a nutshell, you’ll:

• Develop a comprehensive social media marketing plan with individual channel strategies and an influencer strategy.

• Lead and mentor a team of social media specialists, giving guidance and feedback, to support them in their roles and allow them to excel.

• Keep up to date on trends, tools, and best practices, building them into the strategy.

• Collaborate with other departments to integrate social media into overall marketing campaigns and initiatives.

• Analyse performance metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of campaigns.

• Be a voice of innovation and experimentation in the business, constantly looking for new and exciting ways for the brand to get attention.

In an ideal world you’ll have:

• Extensive experience either in house at a retail brand, or at an agency with FMCG clients with a track record of building social strategies for brands.

• Experience in developing influencer strategies.

• An innovative and experimental creative mindset, with the ability to think beyond what is expected.

• An appreciation of what good looks like, and how to stand out.

• Experience leading and motivating a small team, keeping them inspired and able to perform at their best.

You must be commutable to Manchester 3 x per week or be willing to relocate to the area.
