When a new restaurant opens up in town, are you someone that books a table in the first week, keen to discover if it’s going to be a new regular haunt for you?
If so, you’re probably the kind of foodie we’re looking for.
We’re recruiting a Key Account Manager for an international ingredients supplier that has a reputation for looking after its employees really well. So well, in fact, that an opening hasn’t come up in the Sales team for over two years.
The customer focus for this position will be a couple of internationally-recognised QSR chains. One’s a long-standing, globally-recognised customer, whilst the other’s newer and has plenty of growth potential – so you’ll have different day to day challenges to get stuck into.
With QSR becoming a bigger and bigger part of the company’s focus, you’ll be supported by a strong R&D team to ensure that you can delight your customers with the latest innovations. On top of that, the business is investing in increasing its production capacity, which will mean no slowing down on the impressive year on year growth that’s been achieved in recent times.
With a P&L responsibility fast approaching £10m, this is a role where you’ll need to bring at least 3 years account management experience to the table. Experience of managing QSR customers would be our preference, but, if you’re a foodie who has a Food Science degree or a background as a chef prior to managing 7-figure food industry customers, whether that’s B2B ingredients or even added-value products into retail, we’d still be interested to talk with you. That chef or technologist background prior to sales is crucial though, if you’re not bringing QSR customer experience.
Your R&D team are based in northern England, so you’ll need to be travelling to the site once a week in the long term and probably a bit more than that initially. We won’t put a parameter on where you need to live, as we know everyone’s tolerance for travel is different, but a base in northern England or the midlands would be logistically more comfortable. Alongside travelling to the UK site, there’ll be some international work, given the customers aren’t just here in the UK, so expect to be doing some European travel (and probably a few nights each month away from home).
