Business Development Manager – Supplements
💡 What’s in it for you?
This is a chance to shape the future of an international supplements brand that’s on the rise. You’ll be building growth strategies, opening new doors, and making a visible impact on where this company goes next. You’ll be given plenty of freedom to deliver results in a way that works best for you and there’s every chance that in 12-18 months time, you’ll be able to start building a sales team underneath you. But first…there’s work to do!
What you’ll be doing:
✅ Managing existing accounts — this isn’t a huge part of the remit, but there are some impressive customers already on board (including the likes of Fenwick), so you’ll be looking to grow revenue, expand listings, and keep relationships strong with these retailers.
✅ Building and delivering business development strategies for both UK retail and export markets. Boots is a key target, that’s set in stone. But aside from that, we’re looking at you to tell us where your connections are and what your strategy will be.
✅ Pitching, presenting, negotiating, and closing with decision-makers at every level.
✅ Working closely with marketing, product & ops to make sure client needs are nailed.
✅ Representing the brand at events, trade shows, and anywhere the right people are.
✅ Keeping the sales pipeline full, forecasts accurate, and momentum strong.
What you’ll bring:
✨ Solid sales / business development experience in the supplements, sports nutrition, lifestyle nutrition or health category.
✨ Success in winning or growing business in the likes of Boots and Holland & Barrett. From there, success in pharmacy chains, premium retailers and export markets would all be bonuses.
✨ Commercial sharpness — spotting trends, competitor moves, and market shifts.
✨ Confidence with pitching, negotiating, and closing deals.
✨ A consultative sales style that creates value, not just transactions.
✨ The drive to turn opportunities into serious results.
❔ But this is a mega-competitive market! Why’s this brand got so much potential?
➡️ It’s being very highly rated by consumers who are trying it – they’re coming back for more. And more. And more.
➡️ It’s delivering excellent margins, giving a real competitive advantage when negotiating with tough retailers.
➡️ You’ll have great support. All the pieces are already in place to help you, including pan-European regulatory compliance.
➡️ The brand’s got strong financial backing. And everything has been done properly – no corners cut, no taking the cheap option over the right option.
📍 If you’ve got the experience we’re looking for, we’d love to tell you more about this brand and the journey ahead. Depending on how you work best, we’re open to office-based (there’s a hyper-modern office from which to work), hybrid or remote working.
💸 We’re expecting this to be a £45-65k base, plus very good bonus. If everything fits apart from the salary, don’t let that put you off. We’re looking for the very best and if that’s you, we can open discussions to check what we need to do to make this more attractive.
