Technical Services Manager (Bakery)
If you’re someone whose priorities include being able to constantly learn, always being challenged and having multiple different paths available to you in your career development, then this business is one of the absolute best companies in the food ingredients market to enable you to achieve all of those.
You’ll be joining a diverse team in which there are multiple different nationalities – many of whom have relocated to this site in Germany because of the unique challenges that this business can offer them. You don’t need to be able to speak German – free classes can be arranged for you. English is the language spoken internally.
We’re looking for a Technical Services Manager to focus on bakery customers situated all across Europe. A hybrid position, you’ll typically work 3 days per week on site, running trials and being involved in new formulations. Customer visits form a really key part of this role – whether that’s travelling to customers on site or inviting them to your own facility, you’ll be someone who really enjoys that customer interaction if you want to thrive here. From globally-recognised biscuit manufacturers to regional cake producers, you’ll have a portfolio of 15-20 customers with whom you’ll aim to develop really close relationships where your technical expertise will offer huge value to their product offering. Some of the solutions you’ll be able to offer are things that other companies can only dream of.
You’ll have a very experienced and supportive manager, who will work closely with you to ensure that you’re given the resources to achieve your own personal goals, whilst also being fully equipped to succeed as a key part of a passionate and supportive bakery category team.
We’re looking for someone who has significant experience (minimum 7 years) in working in bakery R&D. A Master’s degree would be preferable, but your practical experience is more important – an in depth knowledge of functional ingredients is essential, as is the ability to speak fluent English. Being able to put customers at ease, you’ll be able to demonstrate experience of working with a range of demanding bakery customers – from running pilot plant trials through to full scale production runs.
The business is able to provide advice and guidance to anyone who is relocating from elsewhere in Europe for this position, including ongoing support from the expat community internally, all of whom have made this step and can help with any questions you might have in the relocation process.
